Game Rules

Everything you need to know before engaging in naval warfare on-chain.

Overview

Duelist is a 1v1 Battleship game on Solana. Each player’s fleet of 5 ships is automatically placed on a 10×10 grid, then players take turns firing at the opponent’s grid. The first player to sink all enemy ships wins the match and takes the pot.

Your Fleet

Each player’s fleet consists of 5 ships, automatically placed on the grid. Ships are positioned horizontally or vertically and never overlap.

Gameplay

  1. Ships are auto-placed — Both fleets are randomly positioned on the grid when the match begins.
  2. Take turns firing — Click a cell on the enemy grid to fire. A hit reveals part of a ship, a miss shows diagonal lines.
  3. Sink ships— When all cells of a ship are hit, it’s sunk. The full ship shape is revealed on the grid.
  4. Win the match — Sink all 5 enemy ships to claim victory and the SOL pot.
Demo vs Mainnet

In this free demo, you can see your own fleet on the grid. On mainnet (real SOL), fleets will be generated inside Arcium’s encrypted network (MPC): no one — not even you — will know where the ships are. This makes collusion and precision challenge fraud cryptographically impossible. Your skill is purely in the hunt.

Wagers & Entry

Each match requires a SOL entry fee. Both players wager the same amount. The winner receives the combined pot minus a small platform fee. Entry fees vary by game mode.

Min entry:0.1 SOL
Platform fee:5%

Fairness & Security

In the live game, fleets are randomly generated inside Arcium’s encrypted network — no one, not even the players, knows where the ships are. This prevents collusion and protects the jackpot. All results are computed on encrypted data and verified on-chain. Neither player can move ships after the game starts.

Pro Tips

  • Use a checkerboard pattern when hunting to maximize coverage.
  • Once you get a hit, fire adjacent cells to find the ship’s direction.
  • Aim for the precision challenges — the jackpot bonuses add up fast.

Victory

The first player to sink all 5 enemy ships wins. The SOL pot is transferred to the winner’s wallet automatically. If applicable, precision challenge bonuses are added on top. GG.
